<p><strong>2.High Speed Steel</strong> &#8211; Tooling used for machining, cutting, shaping and forming metals, wood &amp; plastic. Forms of HSS include drills, end mills, cutters and various types of tooling.</p>
<ul class="liststyle">
<li><em>Common grades:</em> M1, M2, M35, M42, Rex 76, M48, T1, T15</li>
<li><em>Molybdenum (Mo)</em>, aka Molly &#8211; used for high temp applications.</li>
<li><em>Common forms:</em> Powder, bars, tubes, coils, cast, single crystals.</li>
<li><em>Titanium (Ti):</em> Aircraft and Aerospace, Medical, Plating, Machining and Engine parts. Used for changing temperatures and absorbing and displacing heat, corrosion.(See http://www.engineershandbook.com/Tables/titaniumgrades.htm for grades).</li>

<p><strong>3.Nickel </strong>- Pure nickel can be used to make various nickel based alloys and used for plating</p>

<li><em>Common grades:</em> Inconel, a.k.a Inco, 718, 600, 601, 625 (Registered trademark of Special Metals Corp.)</li>
<li>Used for applications such as building machinery, tooling, ships, military vehicles, good for salt water because of not corroding or eroding in harsh environments.</li>
<li><em>Nickel Chrome Ingots </em>- Refinery ends and scrap lots</li>
<li><em>Nickel &#8211; CU Monels</em> &#8211; used for saltwater applications and for its corrosion resistance. Valves, pumps, propellers, shafts and marine hardware.</li>
<li><em>Common Grades:</em> Monel-R, K-Monel, Monel-C, Monel- D, Monel-400, Monel-D, Monel-G, etc.</li>
<li><em>Waspalloy</em> &#8211; Ni-Cr-Co Alloy &#8211; Jet turbines, high temp hardware, good for heat resistance, high strength, high stress level.</li>
<li><em>Hastalloy</em>- Nickel Chrome alloy &#8211; used for acid and sulfur resistance and high temp stability.</li>
<li>Used in plate valves, billets, bars, wire, electrodes and pipe and tubing. Common Hastalloys grades are B, C, C276.</li>

<p><strong>4.Cobalt &amp; Cobalt Based Alloys </strong>- Uses: Medical, Machining, Aircraft parts, Ships &amp; Freighters. Used for strength and durability.</p>

<li><em> Common Grades:</em> Stellite HS 25, HS 31, HS 6, HS 12, HS 21 &#8211; Machining and high temp. applications Star-J &amp; Tantung &#8211; Blades, Machining and tooling F75 &#8211; Body part replacement, Hi Temp applications.</li>

<p><strong>5.Tungsten &amp; Tungsten Alloys</strong> &#8211; Used for strength and durability and heat resistant properties. Tungsten filaments are used in light bulbs.</p>
